A large and influential part of Saga Humane Society is extension of the shelter called Fort Dog. It is just down the road. Fort Dog houses lost, unwanted, and homeless dogs and puppies who receive treatment and loving care until they are found an adoptive family. Fort Dog, in its current state, houses up to 40 animals at any given time.

These dogs are well cared for, receiving the required vaccines, dewormers, and medical care that they need. They also get play time in the communal yard daily. Although, we know they love to take long walks on the beach, and play in the water too! This is where YOU come in!

What better way to get involved in the community, and enjoy a day at the beach, than with a furry friend!?

Come to the Saga Humane Society and ask us for a leash! We will provide you with directions to Fort Dog, a leash, and some poop bags just in case there is an accident. You won’t believe all of the happy tails that will be there to greet you. Definitely an engaging and feel good way to spend some of your day!
